About Us:
The Miss Dodge City Scholarship Organization is an organization founded to bring the scholarship and leadership opportunities that the Miss America Organization (MAO) provides to young women in the State of Kansas.
The Miss Dodge City/Cowboy Capital/Boot Hill competition officially serves our region as a preliminary to Miss Kansas and Miss Kansas Outstanding Teen and ultimately Miss America and Miss America Outstanding Teen.
Now in our fifth year under the current directors, with one of the longest running pageant organizations in the area, we have expanded our footprint in southwest Kansas and been able to award scholarships and prizes to our titleholders and contestants each year thanks to amazing sponsors.
Preliminary research has shown that the organization was originally founded by the Kappa Rho Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha in Dodge City in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Records in the possession of the current organization are of the earliest winner (Susan Zveglich - Miss Dodge City 1971). The Miss Dodge City Organization has seen two title holders move on to become Miss Kansas: Jana Salmans - 1975 and Candice Cae Pyle - 1988.

The MAO is strictly run by volunteers, and the organizers of the Miss Dodge City Scholarship Organization ask for your help. Both the contestant scholarships and event expenses are funded through donations.

You can help by: sponsoring a scholarship in your name; donating funds for production expenses; providing advertising; giving products or gifts; or contributing meals to contestants and volunteers. Though our primary focus is to provide scholarships, we will gladly accept other contributions.
